Looks like the barrel is fluted and acts as a cam...

Wonder how reliable/fault tolerant it'll be... Wonder if a mallet will be required.

Who the heck do they expect to sell these to?

Private firearm ownership in China is forbidden. No go there.

Chinese Law Enforcement? Historically, they do not carry guns unless on special assignment. That has recently changed to some degree (http://bigstory.ap.org/article/shootings-rise-after-china-gives-its-police-guns), but it's still unclear how many police will be armed with handguns, and their training program is already craptastic. Can't imagine they want to introduce a newly designed handgun into that mix.
(Also, from my own experience two months ago in Beijing, police presence there is almost nonexistent compared to the U.S. I was told that private security handles day-to-day nuisances and that police are only called when a criminal investigation is required. They do not regularly patrol as we see here.)

Chinese Military? Can't imagine they are itching to buy up a ton of unproven handguns.

Maybe their focus is the export market?

I read the article on the firearm blog and all I took away from it was the following.

If the weapon actually locks in the initial stages of firing, then it could qualify as a delayed blowback weapon, but if not it would be technically defined as a retarded-blowback design - See more at: http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2014/11/17/chinese-qx-04-rifling-delayed-blowback-pistol/#sthash.ogrvGtR7.dpuf

I could only laugh at the phrasing...

I wonder if the finish is the same lead based paint that they use on children's toys?

Between this and the curved Taurus 380, I'm left speechless.
