Guys, So I keep thinking that I "need" a P30L in light LEM. I know they made one with a thumb safety but I don't want the safety and I want to know if there is any way to take it off ( and the gun still function) ? Or do they make one ( P30L light LEM) as Ive not found one and the HK rep I talked to tonight at the big H&H expo and he did not know.

Thanks

I have the V1 lite LEM P30LS. The safety for me is never in the way, I actually never use it. However I find it difficult on a P30 to slide lock on a empty mag. It is not an issue on the LS for me due to the shorter slide release. I'm currently on the email notification on HKParts.net for when they are back in stock. At one time I read that the V1 was only to be in a LS model, but can not confirm (Google Foo really weak tonight). If I come across that article again I'll shoot you a PM with a link.

Here is some info on safety removal

Yes, LEM P30's come without safeties. I have two, as do many other people. You just have to buy a V2 and swap out the TRS and FPBS.

I got mine from this guy... http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=242354029

I believe he's looking for a P30L LEM. Unless something has changed, the only ones that came into the US were the safety-equipped models.

My bad, didn't see the "L."

You're going to have to buy normal P30 LEM and then a P30LS LEM and swap the slides. C'mon, you know you want a $1800 HK ;)

That's where I got mine too, but it was a lot cheaper then!

Aren't you giving up some degree of positive reset going to the V1 configuration?

Does anyone know if the Gray Guns package keeps the more positive reset on the LEM or goes to the V1?

I've no idea?? I just know that TLG really likes the P30 and the LEM and every time I pick up a P30L I think I've got to have one of these. So I'm just thinking that the light LEM would be the best trigger system for it.

Going from a V2 to a "ToddG Light V4" is easy and gives a pretty good trigger (easy enough that I can shoot it, that ought to be a sign). Going all the way to the V1 requires swapping that pesky trigger spring that is a bear to deal with by all accounts. I bought that spring too but never felt the need to take it past the V4 setup. I would start there and shoot it a while before takin it all the way to V1.

I have both versions, TLG V4 in a P30 and the V1 P30LS. I like the light pull on the V1 but prefer the reset on the TLG. With that being said I'm going to switch over the the V1 to Todds specs because of the reset is so much more positive that I can feel the reset and in turn allows ME to shoot better. The difference in pull weight is not a issue IMO.

Just my thoughts and first hand experience.
