Nebraska school says don’t call students boys or girls to be ‘gender inclusive’

Or they could “Create classroom names and then ask all of the ‘purple
Penguins’ to meet at the rug,” the handout said.

Incredibly insensitive to the plight of sub-Antarctic fauna as well as a sublime way of promoting mercantilism & capitalism, since purple was associated with Mesopotamian (http://www.ancient.eu/phoenicia/) royalty.

I'm going to report them to my local NKVD office.

What strange retardery is this?

To be clear: I am all in favor of finding a way to work with adolescents dealing with gender identity issues; that can be a tough time. However, using colored penguins to insult the intelligence of everyone in the room is not one of those ways.

I will admit to filing "Genderbread" away for future use, and I'll bet that our guys here with experience working vice will too. "Run, run fast as you can; can't catch me, I'm the Genderbread John..." :D

The fact that there are differences between the sexes offends these people? This is just assinine.

Purple Penguin! Thank God there is finally a legitimate term for what I have always felt deep down inside myself.

Yeah, but you're an armed purple penguin so they'll still hate you

Yet another step towards the total pussification of our youth!

I remember about two years ago, a council of civic leaders in the Ukraine led the charge against the Teletubbies.

That sounds like a gendered reference. Perhaps you could have said, "Yet another step towards the total purpleication of our youth!"

How long before "purple penguin" is flagged as racist in Youtube and Liveleak comments?
I give it a week.

Purple penguin sounds like a genital reference in some way. Just saying.

Dear Dan Savage:

I'm trying to stay faithful to my marriage vows, but I realized that I can't get off if I'm not at least fantasizing about my wife giving me a purple penguin. But she won't do it, no matter what. We've discussed and she just freaks out. She says it's because of the mess and she doesn't want horseradish all over the wall, but I think we're just not sexually compatible any more.

Is there a way for me to get this outside of my marriage without betraying my wife's trust?

Sincerely,

Need to get schooled

I almost shipped my pants reading that. Hilarious.

And a snap shot during aforementioned purple penguin.

This dastardly conspiracy to destroy American childhood gender - role training seemed silly to me when it first caused a stir, as if a lot of people went looking for a reason to be outraged and found one in a story about one school district making a simple change in approach in order to avoid hurting a few kids who didn't fit in the pre - ordained boxes.
But now I realize the conspiracy is everywhere. At my kid's school, they keep calling the kids "panthers!" I mean, that's the school mascot, but still. They did the same thing to us when I was a "bulldog," which is probably why I have to write down which public restroom to use so I don't forget. And it's even worse in the military, where they call people "soldier" or "marine" or "devil dog," all clearly gender-neutral cultural programming!
Or somebody desperately needed content and figured convincing people to be angry over nothing is just as good as reporting the news, in a pinch.
