Nothing too special about this set...other than its owner. It's on its way to the Legendary, Ken Hackathorn. Sure hope he likes it. Thanks for the order Ken, and for giving me permission to post a picture of your leather!

That's really not a compliment...getting a paper cut should make you feel the same way

Geez. That makes my old Milt Sparks look cheap in comparison. Well done.

Are there issues with durability of the leather, especially if it gets sweaty? That would be the only drawback I see to leather... except possibly weight and thickness.

Figured I'd ask the expert here.

I have many of my IBS Models (IWB) in service with the Maricopa County Drug Task Force, and if a leather holster is going to get wet with sweat, those ones certainly are! I have not had any negative feedback from them, and I talk to one of the lead detectives on the Task Force on a regular basis. I have not had any complaints regarding deterioration of the molding or the leather, although the life of a leather holster isn't infinite. I am sure a lot of leather holster failures have to do with using less than ideal leather, however, I use the highest grade leather that I can get, ordered directly from the tannery (all USA hides and tanning).

Hmm... I may have to look in to getting a leather holster then. Thanks!

I've been running one of John's IWB holsters for work and it is holding up great with lots of sweat in just over a year. No issues at all with it, still sturdy, formed to the gun and has retention like the day it came in the mail from John. Good looking LFA-1 as well.
