Julie G posted this MSNBC poll (http://www.msnbc.com/msnbc/poll-do-you-think-people-should-be-allowed-carry-guns-public) on her Facebook. "Do you think people should be allowed to carry guns in public?"

42,000 votes: Yes! The Second Amendment guarantees it.
4,761 votes: No, it's too dangerous.
2,211 votes: Only for self defense.

I would add the words "mature" and/or "responsible." Not like some of the fools that are running around in Texas and Ohio. http://www.gunnuts.net/2014/06/30/racist-open-carry-in-ohio-is-not-a-bloomberg-false-flag

SWPLs don't understand that they're a minority.

When you're in SWPL Land (that's where I live) it's all a giant Pauline Kael bubble.

Of course everyone hates George Bush! Of course Teabaggers are racist tools of the Koch brothers! Of course only drooling redneck Klansmen carry guns!

They don't understand that, come election time, the blue collar union worker and the unemployed person trapped in the 'hood are only their allies of convenience; they're not on board for the whole MSNBC Lean Forward Smart Urban Grad-Degree Cracker ideology.

I wrote a long diatribe about this. But it's healthier to just say: yep.
