Have any of you had a Springfield EMP or put many round through one?
How was the reliability and durability of the pistol?
Thank you.
Interested in responses. I looked hard at them and wound up with a CCO.

Mine was reliable but was machined too high for the ejector cut in the slide and broke. Springfield fixed it, I sold it.

I had one for a little while. Mine initially had problems feeding hollow points. This was a fairly common problem (based on a web search at the time). Sent it back to Springfield, came back a week later and didn't experience any further issues. I shot 1250 straight rounds through it without a hitch in 3 month period and without cleaning it. All together I had a little over 2500 rounds through it about 1900 to 2000 of those were after it returned from Springfield.
I ended up selling it as I was getting away from 1911's at the time. I would and very well may buy another.

My wife had one for a while, this was in the early years when they first came out. It was very accurate and a sweetheart to shoot but had a couple issues with light primer strikes and failures to feed. We sent it back and when it returned was a better gun but still had the occasional issue.
We sold it with full disclosure and she now carries a custom 9mm CCO.

I had one for three months in 40. It was nice just not my cup of tea since I have never really shot a 1911 all that much.

My buddy had an EMP. It had problems feeding hollow points. It is pretty accurate when it worked.

I've owned an EMP in 9mm for a few years and shot it regularly and carried it quite a bit as well. Never had any functioning problems with three brands of factory JHP's, one brand of factory ball, and a few hand loads with JHP and FMJRN bullets. Accuracy is surprising . . . much better than I expected from the short barrel. Great pistol and highly recommended.
