Putting the gun to his head and pulling the trigger? That's a special kind of stupid.....

why do people feel the need to "show safety" by putting a gun to their own head? pointing it at the ground would work too... as stated before, thats a special kind of stupid.

Always entertaining to the read the highly informed comments that follow such articles also.

I may need to move away from this area. Seems like too much bleach in the local gene pool lately.

"Johnson says Butler apparently failed to re-engage the safety."
Johnson has a talent for understatement.

The amazing thing to me is, this seems to happen somewhat regularly. I know I've read other, similar, stories in the not too distant past.
Yes, my uncle who was a Coast Guard helicopter pilot told us a story that he responded to a situation which was almost exactly the same(it was even a .22). He probably told us that story like 15 years ago.
Proof positive that Darwinism does indeed work. Now the next big step is to convince enough people that in the long run it's a good thing and to stop doing everything they can to stop it.

There's another story in the news of a man who pointed a revolver at his friend as a joke...something they've apparently done many times before.
Well this time he apparently didn't empty all the chambers and on his second trigger pull he center-punched his friend from 2 feet away.

I'm glad I wasn't one of those friends who had the distinct pleasure of watching their buddy shoot himself in the head.
