From reading that thread:
the perceived benefit cf. a P2000 is the rougher grip texturing; and,
the gun does not actually function.
So while definitely interesting from a "gunsmiths do incredible stuff" standpoint, the question that is left would be, "Why not just stipple a P2000?"

I don't have enough experience with P2000 series guns to really comment, but I've heard a number of people comment about the USP having a better LEM trigger than the P2K series. So I guess getting a USP action with it is another possible plus?

I agree, though, that this mostly falls into the "kinda neat, but kinda stupid" category.

That would be a whole lot of bullshit to deal with for a slightly better trigger.

Actually, having handled and shot a GGI-tuned P30, I'd say it's a very nice trigger. Necessary? No. Beautiful? Yes.

I'm always a fan of frankenguns and experimentation, since no one makes a pistol that's perfect for me (and I don't even know what that is). I think a significant amount of my spare time in the future when I'm out of college will be spent doing things exactly like this :D

I don't have any plastic guns but I'm wary of permanently stippling a frame. It makes me nervous enough to do it on a replaceable $15 grip panel.

I was referring to putting a P30 slide on a USP frame just to get a USP-style trigger.

In that case, we're agreed.

Please help educate the HK ignorant, I recently acquired a HK P30 V2 (lem) and really like it. I have allot of experience carrying and training with the 9mm Glock's most with the G19. Is the P2000 V2 lem trigger comparable to the same variant P30?

Yes. The P30 is essentially part of the P2000 family.

The HK45 is part of the USP family.

The USP and P2000 guns use different nomenclature because, essentially, the Germans are evil.

the Germans are evil.
:cool::confused::cool:
This is, because we are Germans!
