Here are some pics of my S&W 442. This gun has been my constant companion 365 days a year for the past seven years. I've also used it to teach a few folks about how to shoot a J-frame.

If you were wondering what an aluminum J-frame wearing CT grips looks like that lives in a Kramer pocket holster or in a Renegade ankle rig looks like after some years of abuse..well...here you go. I carry it as my backup on duty and off-duty and it's damn near a part of me now. If this thing could tell stories it would have some good ones.

Nice to see a well used j.

How old are those CT grips? I've heard that the rubber on the back starts to peel off after a while. I've got the older hard plastic CT boot grips. They're ok but I'd like them better if they were cushy.

They're from '08 I believe. They're coming apart a bit behind the trigger guard and a little bit on the backstrap. The gun is no beauty queen and they still work just fine. I prefer the covered backstrap as it changes the grip angle to be perfect for me.

Something about a well carried gun with finish wear just speaks to me. :)

Nice "working"revolver Kev. I have one that looks just like it, minus the CT grips. I've been on the fence about which model CT to get (405/105) but am leaning towards the 405. Do they cause you any problems in the pocket? I'm using the Kramer also.

Thanks and stay safe.

No problems in the pocket and cause no extra bulk. Can't see em in the daytime, but work pretty well at night.

Thanks, just what I needed to know.

I have 405s on my pocket 642, and they work great for that role, but I am on my second set and they are also starting to come apart. It's getting a bit annoying.
