While reading a number of posts on the forum I've, albeit a bit slowly, realized there are quite a few members who are in the Austin area.

Although Killeen isn't Austin metro so to speak. I'd be interested when some of you are maybe looking for a training group or just a shooting get together (you know, shoot each others pistols, talk about TDA as this is on of the few places where TDA isn't actually vilified on a regular basis.)

Anyway, given the long weekend (for us military types)

I'm wondering if anyone is interested or has some type of normal get together.

Chuck

I'm in North San Antonio, Justintime and NickA aren't far from me. I'm sure if schedules allow we'd love to meet some more central Texas shooters.

We have another in college station too that is a lurker. I would be down for the occasional Austin shoot: there's also the Austin Idpa matches that we could have a pf squad lol.

Yup, I rarely miss a USPSA match.

I've done a couple Central TX meet-ups with Lightfighter guys, always at the Best of the West. I was able to secure an all-day rental of a tac bay for 25 USD a person, minimum of 6 people. We were also able to get one of the managers of Silencer Shop to come out and demo cans for us. I'd definitely down for some kind of meet-up, assuming my schedule allows.

I'm just north of Austin in Pflugerville and would be interested in this.

Awesome. I'll likely start attending the matches next month, I need to get my gear in order, my reloading bench too.

If not USPSA matches, I'm down for meeting and greeting, showing off guns, range training, etc. I like Best of the West for their "tactical" bays. I can contribute USPSA targets, a timer, and a few cheap PVC target stands.

Bring 200 rounds, eyes and ears, a gun, 5 mags, and sunscreen. That's all you need. :)

I'm working on the magazines and the ammo.

ARC scheduled a USPSA match for this upcoming Saturday (5/3). Do the matches usually last to 4:00PM?

There's going to be a suppressor shoot next Friday at lone star handgun. I think silencerco is doing a demo so that would be cool to meet some people and play with Nfa goodies

No, if things get going on time (hammer down at 1000) we're usually gone by 1400-1500. If there a humongous turnout sometimes it's slower.

I'm going to try to make it there Saturday. I am in training for the next 3 weeks so I may have to defer to the wife, but I'm going to try..

No worries - though keep us posted. Barring any unforeseen circumstances, I should be able to make it. Who else is down for a little gaming?!

Hey all,
Back into the thread after ACL reconstruction on Monday. It will likely be 6-8 weeks (when I can drive again)!but I will keep tabs on the thread to see when and if any of you link up in the Austin area. After just picking up amP30 V2 last week I am really looking forward to seeing how some of you are getting along with LEMs and TDAs such as 2022s, 229/226s and the like.

Take care
Chuck

Gotcha. I should be there next month too. If anyone wants a more advanced notice to meet up, I think CTRP in Waco will have a USPSA match on June 21st.

Great match yesterday - Dr. No knows how to run an HK and he makes it look all too easy!

I should be at the aforementioned CTRP match in Waco if anyone wants to squad together. Next month's match at ARC is July 5th.

On a tangential note, imp1295, the range had a fine talc like dirt in some areas that managed to work its way onto and into my P01 magazines however there were no related stoppages...

Good to hear about the talc like dirt being a non-issue. No matches for me. The ACL is still in the mend.

Good seeing you out there .....

I am going to try to shoot Saturday but I have parents in town so it is 50/50. I'll see what magic I can pull, I love me some USPSA!
