LNIB/NIB stainless Sig P232 w/night sights, 2 mags, case and all the paperwork.
I can't find any evidence of it being racked much less shot.
$400 OTD

I love having a inside connection at the busiest pawn shop in town.
Shot 100 rounds through it this afternoon without a hiccup.
Time to buy some Nill-Griffe wood and maybe a sweet exotic leather holster.

If James Bond was going to a BBQ...

Isn't that a .380?

While it did take a lot of concentration and was not easy, I was able to make 5 straight DA head shots on a IPSC target at 25 yards with Barnes Tac-XPD.
I've since greased the trigger bar area with TW-25 and done some dry fire and while the DA is still fairly heavy it is smoothing out nicely.
I just finished sending Nill-Griffe $160, now it's time to find a sweet OWB exotic holster, I'm thinking crocodile...

Yea... but it's a BBQ gun, which is like wearing a powdered wig (or a dead fox hat).
You're not actually expecting it to accomplish anything except look cool.

Congrats on your purchase, I hope you enjoy your new pistol. I do find it interesting that a month or two ago you were hatin' on the Glock 42 as being too big and in an inferior caliber. You pointed out your PM9 is the same size, that you shoot it well, it is reliable, and is chambered in 9mm so you would have no use for a pistol the size of the G42 in chambered in .380. The SIG P-232 stainless is larger and quite a bit heavier than the G42, yet chambered in the same inferior caliber. I'm just curious as to why you find the stainless SIG .380 to be an acceptable choice where the G42 is not.

Sorry, in the time it took to type my reply you explained it.

Holy Smokes. Jody did indeed buy a .380. But I would have too; that gun at that price. Congrats, JH!

It's not an acceptable choice.
But when hanging out on the back porch grillin and chillin, it's going to look sweet in a shiny black crocodile OWB holster.
Or even better... a black leather shoulder holster!
The ladies will be swooning.

I've owned a LCP for years.
I just don't pretend they're good for anything.

The guy brought in 3 like new pistols and a AR, he's only made payments on the AR and everything else timed out.
The owner is a friend of mine and knew I could't resist the James Bond temptation if the price was right.
Plus work dropped a $1000 bonus on me today and it was burning a hole in my wallet.

The 232, the fur hat and black basketball "lounge around shorts" would be a baller look.

If you gotta have a .380, that's the one. I think I traded mine to Betty for a USP9C, which was in turn traded away for... heck, I don't know. I've slept since then.

I don't really miss the USP9, but I wouldn't mind another 232.

I used to have a blued P232 back in the late 1990s. I traded an Interarms Walther PPK for it after firing 3 magazines out of the PPK. It hurt to shoot, wasn't very accurate, and the loaded chamber pin stuck all the way out of the slide and wouldn't go back in.

The P232 was lightyears ahead of the PPK for shootablilty. It is the only weapon that I have ever owned that drew blood however. A friend came over to shoot and before I could stop him, he took a thumb over revolver grip and pulled the trigger. The slide cut 2 very deep bloody furrows in his left thumb. He kept shooting though.

When my wife and I got married she decided that she wanted a CCW piece. I had a wide selection of guns for her to shoot but I just knew she would like and kept pointing her towards the P232.

She didn't.

She went Glock 19/26 and has never wanted to shoot anything else since.

That P232 was then traded on something I don't remember what now.

I still remember that slight rounded grip and light weight fondly.

I actually saw a plainclothed officer in Clarksville TN wearing a stainless one OWB as his primary back when I lived there. Kind of caught me by surprise.

I carried a P230 (blued with the aluminum frame) as my primary BUG for a lot of years, and got very close to base of the skull shooting a guy with it during a fight over my duty gun. I loved the thing because they are very shootable, and the stainless P-230's were even better. One very solid legendary D/A investigator in San Diego won the "9mm transition" class at SDPD with one shooting against mostly P-226's. With the right Indian, they are a great arrow. It is by far my favorite .380. I don't know how much difference there is between a P230 and the P-232, but I really dig the P230's.

JR Custom Holsters has now been tasked with making the exotic BBQ rig.

The P232 is an evolved P230.
The design changes were primarily around making it feed hollow points more reliably.

Wow. Never thought of it that way, " BBQ gun" captures it. Been wanting to start on a similar project but I'm afraid my wife would want to carry it. Maybe after she gets squared away with a carry setup that she likes...

Must be the most accurate 380.Pistol
Ive had the Mustang and Beretta and NNA 32/380`s accuracy wasn't near as good as my j frame.

I can attest that they do run like a bigger gun as far as accuracy and reliability in my experience. I kick myself for not grabbing a stainless P230 at a gun shop for a great price recently. Initially passed (to go home and think about it) and went back a few days later and it was gone:(. After seeing the pictures of Jody's, I really wish I had bought the P-230.

Project James Bond BBQ gun... stage two complete.
JR Customs Holsters (http://jrcholsters.com/) comes through big time with a horsehide and alligator OWB.
I turned him loose with instructions to surprise me and he gave me a "muy bueno cinco de Mayo!"

Big Green Egg will be fired up this coming weekend.
I'm thinking mesquite grilled ribeyes are on the menu.

Now I just need some "action pics" of me stylishly tending to the grill while strapped.

This P232 has gone from the outhouse to the penthouse.
It's been a blast turning it from a pawn shop find to a slick little showpiece.
What next?
Maybe some subtle, stylish scrollwork engraving...

What do you say about those grips? I really like the way wood grips look, but I'm not sure they are appropriate for a working gun (which is where they'd go, as I'm sans a BBQ gun).

Sweet. You should start the First Annual PFC BBQ Rig Virtual BBQ Thread. Showcasing dead animals that feed us and hold our guns for us.

Really, really nice. The finish K-N puts on them stays grippy even when sweaty.
The big downside is how thick wood grips have to be.
On a single stack .380 it's perfect.
On a double stack 9mm they start getting too fat unless you have really large hands.

I had and carried a blued P-232 for awhile. It fed HP ammo reliably but wouldn't feed the truncated bulk ammo worth a crap. I dumped it for a Buckmark and $200 and moved on. Congratulations on finding a good one.
