With my recent switch from M&P's to Glock 17's, I find myself in need of a 1/2x28 threaded barrel for one of my 17's. LGS stocks Lone Wolf...for some reason that sticks out in my head as a not-so-great choice. Are factory threaded barrels available for the 17? Recommendations? Need is to mount an AAC Evo-9.

Thanks!

The factory TB'S are pricey when you find them. For the cost I'd go with a BarSto or KKM. If you really want a factory barrel you could always get a G34 barrel threaded.

My primary concern with an aftermarket barrel is fit and function. I guess I feel like a factory barrel, even a cut and threaded 34 barrel would have the correct dimensions in the locking block/chamber area.

So I just talked to Glock and apparently I can buy a brand new 34 barrel for $150 + shipping and tax. Any reason having one of those threaded wouldn't work?

Thanks for the links. Those are metric threads, though, which would require me to get a new piston for my can. I like it being 1/2x28 as I can throw it on a .22 in a pinch (I do also have a dedicated .22 can and don't make it a habit of using my 9mm can on a .22).

I've got a KKM (standard, not threaded) for a G34 - it's been great, the competition guys swear by them. When I got it, it was actually a little too tight, I called them up, sent it back on their dime and had it back within about a week and it fit great. They said the tolerences of the factory guns vary a little and they try to err on the side of too tight.

On the aftermarket barrel I have watched a video with Kyle defoor who runs a kkm barrel in his 19. I think he said it shrinks his groups in half.

It would work fine, however, ADCO wants $95, GemTec $189 for the threading. A threaded BarSto runs $315 and a KKM $215. I would definitely go with the KKM given the cost of those options.
