I love guns.

You can't swing a dead cat without hitting a tactical beard wearing 5.11 stuff.

Merkel has crap checkering, but I need a drilling.

Gun guys gossip like like a sewing circle.

Married guys go crazy when away from the wives.

My beard isn't tactical. It's all for the ladies.

...and the gossip isn't really as bad as a sewing circle, IMO. I think it's more like "Mean Girls" which is way worse.

When men do it, it is not gossip. It's intelligence sharing.

Nice 1911s there Bill. Not a 1911 guy but if I was to have one it would be one you worked on.

Now if you have time can you see when the 2014 line of 5.11's is comming out? Do not want to be caught dead in with 2013 5.11s in 2014.

Beautiful Colts Bill! I am going to borrow that picture to show to my brother who just dropped a bomb on me last night. He told me last night that he wants a Sig Nightmare 1911, and of course, I told him my well earned money would not go to a Sig 1911.

BTW, would "Undercover Dress" for the SHOT Show allow shorts and flip flops so you do not stand out? This whole "Tactical Clothing" thing gets tiresome. What the heck is wrong with a pair of blue jeans and a T-shirt? People these days.............;)

Because chicks won't know you are tactical……..

And Bill, those are really nice pistols. I've been teetering on the brink of spending serious 1911 money, and your threads are not helping...

For Tam:

Additional thoughts:

KevinB is actually a pretty nice guy.

NHC had the nicest 1911s at the show.

The booth bunnies are not of the same caliber as a MRS meeting.

Every time I am on the strip, I am reminded just how little class or pride people have.

I watched for over 1 minute a lady in a wheel chair try to cross an isle as retards in 5.11 gear w/ tactical beards toting a milk crate full of catalogs barged past them. Not happy over this. Not at all. At the 30 second mark, my brother and I started calling the a-holes out, then blocked a lane for her.

I saw enough fashion blue jeans and shirts to last a lifetime.

Mt. Charleston is the Las Vegas attraction, IMHO.

HS Precision's booth:

Yum!

I'll not be patronizing Les Baer ever again.

Good show. Everyone was from Somethingoranother Tactical or TacticalSomething Media Group.

I really, truly, hate the strip. It stinks. Everything is cheesey and over priced.

Ken - Wait a few weeks. I have some,,,,novel things coming :D

Worse, been shooting it. But I hate the look of snake checkering. We were working on the TX star up at JESTC. I was slumming the G34 and he the Kobra Carry. After a difficult series of runs, he handed me the KC and said want to shoot this? I made a clean run, handed it back, and said thanks. Priceless.

But it could cost me money in the long run…….just not an Ed Brown.

I hear you. In fact, I remember a good pal accusing me of being a communist because I did not own a 1911 of some sort. Wonder who that could have been, 20 years ago???:D

Got that covered now with a Colt WWI repro that I actually shoot every now and then.

Enjoy your hunt for a custom 1911; its half the fun.

I've been along the gulf coast too long, as I completely understand that sentence, and I don't even fish.

There are few things more fun than chasing redfish on light tackle with artificial lures.
