Didn't want to drag the M&P mods thread off-topic with this:

I'd like to find a set of 2 dot night sights that are as close to the factory sights as possible. I dig the front sight post and rear channel width of the factory sights, and the rear sight ledge on the new production sights is about spot on, IMO. The only thing I don't like is how they disappear in the dark. :)

Any suggestions?

I agree on liking the stock set up.

On M&P's I only have experience with warren tactical 2 dot so far. Not sure on the best way to measure height but my set of warrens have same point of impact as my stock Smith sights.

Here's measurements on mine with my calipers.
M&P
Front post width:
0.128
Rear channel width:
0.140

Warren Tactical 2 dot
Front post width:
0.1285
Rear channel width:
0.1450

The warrens required a lot of fitting and seem a little high on price if not on sale but other than that solid so far. The rear sight I have has the U channel with ramp in front which I'm not sure if I like yet or not. I would of went with Sevigny Tactical if they were on stock when they had the UBL sale but this deal was to good to sit on so took a leap.

Overall I'm pleased and my performance on drills within 15yrds keeps getting better which I'm not sure has to do with sights but at least it didn't get worst. I may still pick up the Sevigny rear sight to see which I like better later on.

Do you have any thoughts on how the ramp works for one-handed manipulation? Not a huge priority for me, but the stock sights are so near perfect in that regard that it'd feel disheartening to take a step back.

Thanks for the info and pictures, for sure. Huge help! :)

You should also check out the Heinie Straight Eight Ledge sights for the M&P.

It works somewhat but not nearly as good as sights with straight edge.

I shoot an M&P with the heinie sights like JV linked at a class this year and really like them. It was someone elses pistol so I only ran a few rounds.

If you like the stock sight, have you thought of getting them modded to a two dot set up?

Although a set of Heinies might be more cost effective, just wanted to put another option on the table.
