I was going to throw this into the shooting at the pelvis thread due to the headshot discussion, but then I thought it needed it's own thread.

A most excellent interview of a hell of a fight;

Note the bad guy was using a Glock 21, the officer a G22 with top end modern JHPs.

Just for the folks who think .40s and .45s have "stopping power".

Breathtaking.

Thanks for sharing.

Certainly food for thought.

An instructor once told me that, "pistols do not have stopping power, it just simply does not exist in service calibers, if you want that, you need a rifle or a 12 gauge, there is a compromise with pistols as it's impractical to carry a long gun all day, this is where training becomes paramount"

An inspiring example of warrior spirit. Good riddance to that worthless POS criminal.

Have to wonder what the guys who are convinced that a .45 will kill a man just by winging his finger would think of this one.

I met Officer Reston in 2006 in a carbine class taught by Kyle Defoor at what was then Blackwater USA. In fact, I still have a picture of myself with Officer Reston and another member of his team on the wall of my office.

Last year I ran into Jared again at a TigerSwan course taught by Kyle and noticed the permanent effects of the fight. After hearing his account of the incident (which in keeping with his personality he managed to describe with humor) all I could do was warn him to take extra care in the future as interaction with me in a carbine course seemed to lead to higher chances of catching a bullet down the line.
