I was just about to order a .220 tall orange hack front sight to pair with my Warren rear when I saw this new listing:

GL-212-165-120-Q
for all Glock models 17-39. .165” height x .120” wide. Green mini-tritium dot center with LimeGreen photoluminescent squared outline. Front sight of the T-CAP set.

I also saw this:
GL-212-165-120-Q
NEW item as of Oct 2013. Our thinnest tritium front sight for Glock. .165” H x .120” W. Small tritium dot with thin lime colored painted outline

I'm very interested a thin hack sight. Especially if I can get one tall enough to pair with a Warren/10-8/Heinie rear. Has anyone seen on in the flesh yet?

When I saw your post, I thought, "Wow. That's cool."

Then it dawned on me that I received a package recently from Rick. I pulled it from the safe, and low and behold, the sights do exist in the flesh.

Now I have decide upon which pistol the new sight shall ride.

First impressions and pictures please. I'm very interested.

I e-mailed Rick and got a response saying no immediate plans for a .220 tall version but check for Orange in March.

I have a Glock 17 that needs sights, if that helps your decision making process

Yup, I have his number as well, but since you didn't know what to do with those sights I thought I'd throw out a workable solution..............

I know what to do with the sight. I just haven't decided where to do it yet.

I heard about these from one of my buddies the other day. Very curious to see pictures or try them. Seems like a lot of potential. I wonder how much visibility of the bright color will be lost to so much less (presumably) surface area of it? I would like to check them out.

I really like a painted 120 and I really like the cap front sight. I don't like how wide the Hack rear is. If they made it tall enough for a 10-8 or heinie ledge rear rear I would be so happy.

That is what I'm hoping for as well. They do sell .150 rear "classic" sights though. But they aren't undercut or serrated.

Interesting to see if they will offer these in the high-vis orange as well.

I have a venerable Gen3 G19 that is 10+ years old. I used it to make master in GSSF. I had a set of Ameriglo classic night sights on it, but the tritium had faded; so, I recently swapped the front sight for a Hack front. I think I will put the new thin sight on it and move the Hack front sight to a different pistol.

really like having a set screw, I have not had any problems with rear sights drifting if they have one... Pretty much all of the ameriglo rear offerings have drifted on me at least once. if the operator rear had a set screw that would be pretty awesome too.

I have a couple of sets, I paired them with a yellow operator rear. My only complaint is the rear tritium dots are larger than the front one. I'll probably end up taking a sharpie to the rear dots, hopefully that helps.

Hopefully my crappy iPhone pics will work:

Did you try the sharpie (which color) and did it help with the rear dot being larger than the front dot? Thanks!

I should have my set of the T-CAP sights delivered today. Looking forward to trying them out in my Gen4 G19.

I got a few of these and dig them so far.

Screaming bright.

Pairs correctly with my existing Ameriglo Operator and Defoor rear sights.

Even though the tritium capsule on the T-CAP is smaller than that of the Operator front, the three tritium dots look fine to me in the dark.

Paired with an Operator rear, I got the same level of accuracy on a B8 at 25 yards that I get with Operators, Defoors, and a Defoor rear paired with a Dawson FO front (.105" wide.)

Washes out a bit on the lightest color targets and surfaces.

I like that the brightly colored element of the front sight essentially includes the top edge.

I might not like how large the brightly colored element of the front sight is, say, compared to a fiber optic. It will take more time and use for me to know.

The contrast between rear sight, front sight, and target is sometimes a bit odd since the rear and front sights contrast with each other. Not sure that's a problem, but I notice it.

I plan to use it in USPSA on Saturday, which will be in full outdoor lighting, shooting at brown cardboard and white steel targets. I want to see how it is on white steel.

Overall, having used it in dry fire at home, and dry and live fire on the indoor range, neither of which is very brightly lit, it seems like an exceptionally visible front sight. I'm happy with the T-CAP so far.

Anyone have better pics showing the front only? Comparison to the 0.140"?

Rick informed me at SHOT that these will become available for SIGs soon and as I'm about to get a P229, I need to shoot him an email myself. Very excited to try these out. I was a huge fan of the original full size version during my Glock test.

I haven't installed yet but I picked up the other .120 front a few weeks ago if anyone was interested in what it looks like as compared to the .125 Operator

My photography skills are lacking

That is awesome news. I am currently running a factory white ring tritium front that was taken down to .120 and a factory rear sight with the back blacked out by Sharpie and really like the setup. A less "ghetto" version of that same setup would be incredible. I really liked the Trijicon HD's but the front is still really wide and I found them a great aid for keeping me from racking the slide using a saddle grip - they are sharp.

2014 test gun?

The T-CAP was workable, but obviously not ideal for white steel and brown cardboard (surprisingly) in the lighting conditions we had yesterday. With the sun shining at us at a shallow angle, the T-CAP was silhouetted by the sun, but because it is so light colored, it appeared much less 'dense' than a black sight would, if that makes sense. It only really popped on one stage, after the sun had gone behind an obstruction and the light was dimmer. Then it was very visible (that was on the last stage on the video.) There was no doubt I would have been better off in the match with a black front sight, with or without a FO. The lack of a dark-colored element on the T-CAP seems to be the flipside of the lack of a light-colored element on a plain black sight.

I don't think I'm going to take the T-CAP off my carry guns right now, but I'm just once again reminded that a target color or lighting condition exists somewhere to screw any given set of sights.

Quoting an excerpt from my journal describing the T-CAP as used in a USPSA match the other day. I included the video so you can get some sense of the lighting conditions.

Short version: I still like the T-CAP, but it was clearly not ideal for USPSA in the lighting we had that day.

That's why I still think the Orange outline is worth giving up some glow.

Same here, I'd try a T-CAP in orange though.

I like the sights in that picture.

Its kind a like my irons on my Sig P229 ! ( my favorite)

I wish I could find sights like those for the P30S

2014 test gun?

I think he said something about it!

I wanted a P229 9mm to begin with. But had some concerns about the changes made. (Dash -1 slide long extractor)

Nothing against my P30S I just prefer the ergos of the P229 after carrying a P229 40cal for several years.

Has he changed his mind on orange t-caps? I asked in December and he said no plans...

Definitely interested in a thin orange cap front. Preferably tall enough to pair with a warren or heinie rear glock sight

Our training group is working low light stuff right now, and in that environment, the T-CAP has been great.
