We did supply the first decent Libertarian Presidential candidate in the last election (Gary Johnson).

And all my friends, co-workers and I wasted our votes on him, trying to make a statement.

Are you sure you're looking at the same list we are? 'Cause it sure looks like we come in with a sad 44th place ranking to me. Or MoCo was ceded to MO to alleviate abbreviation confusion?

No kidding. I am actually good with no open carry, especially with the counter of lessening the requirements for a CHL. Wendy Davis is most known for her Pro "choice" stance on abortion, but I hope they focus on her Pro "no choice" on guns.

I believe that the second amendment is a nearly unlimited right, thus though I don't advocate open carry I think it should be legal.

Wendy's in the Gov race to make waves and agitate. To catch some national spotlight, maybe jump to the national stage. Although, I don't see how she gets elected to a Federal position in Tarrant County, she might get appointed to something bigger than TX Senator.

Even in her own district, she squeaked by 50/48 (2%-L) in 2008 and 51/49 in 2012.

I suppose in the grand scheme of things, this gerrymandering isn't too bad.

I wouldn't be surprised if her Texas Governor run isn't for an ulterior motive. My understanding is that even her campaign admits that the only way for her to win is somehow a majority of Republican women jump ship and vote for her based on her filibuster of the abortion bill.

I am hoping the positive will be that Hilary takes her to Washington and gets her out of here......she can have the San Antonio mayor as well. They would make great Washington folks.

Blame the immigrating Massholes and Maine-iacs.

Maybe there's no blame.
Maybe there are a few other places taking NH example and running with it.

No shame in 3rd place for this race.

Pretty sure KS has been mislabeled.

Nope. It is heavy on public employment and farm subsidies, which to the group that put this out is a disliberty. I tend to agree.

As someone who drives back and forth between MO -- which ain't great -- and KS, there are several gun laws that kind of blow. First among them for me is the misdemeanor for crossing a posting, which I guess isn't an issue anymore?

From handgunlaw.us: "K.S.A. 75-7c10 as amended states that a Permit/License Holder who goes by an AG approved sign, stating no firearms, is not a crime but can be asked to leave and if the person does not leave when asked, they can be charged with trespassing. (This seems to apply to all signage in all public buildings, except those with adequate security measures)"

Chuck Haggard
11-08-2013, 01:15 AM
Yes, it's not a crime now, unless you refuse to leave, then it would be a trespass.

Chuck Whitlock
11-08-2013, 01:53 PM
But, isn't refusing to leave after being asked to a trespass anyway, irrespective of having a gun?
If so, it would seem to be a non-issue.

With a ranking of 40 and a change of +4 (which I am assuming is a good change since it's in green and has a plus sign) since 2009, I'd say there is no way Connecticut's score is current. And it's not like it was ever all that great.

New Hampshire has voted for the Democrat/left in every presidential election since 1992. Two of the Republican leaning counties were Rockingham and Hillsborough - both border Mass. Some of the rural counties (Coos, Sullivan, Grafton, Cheshire) are loyal to Democrats. In 2000, Bush squeaked by, but more total votes went to Gore and Nader. NH has turned quite purple over the years, at least at the federal level. At the State level, all mainstream politicians avoid broad base taxes like the plague and leave gun owners alone.

Tamara

For real. Oregon not playing nicely with the other states in license recognition is one of the worst points about Oregon gun laws. Maybe the worst.

The GOP statehouse as well as the Marion/Indpls Unigov, is pretty free with spending tax money to lure businesses, conventions, and Super Bowls.

Fiscal policy has deteriorated in Indiana, and the state is now ranked well below average. While between 2006 and 2008 local governments were responsible for most of the rise in debt, between 2008 and 2010 the state government was the main culprit. Virtually all the increase in state government debt came in the form of “long-term public debt for private purposes,” which increased from $9.8 billion to $13.2 billion in FY 2010. On the other hand, the slight rise in tax burden is entirely attributable to local governments. The total state tax take fell from $15.1 billion (FY 2008) to $13.9 billion (FY 2010), while the local take rose over the same years from $8.5 billion to $9.5 billion, even as personal income fell.

Curious as to why WV is 42. Yeah, we have unions. Yeah, most voted for Dem pols but we also passed 4 pro-gun laws this year and no anti-gun laws (much to Manchin's disappointment), not to mention we voted against the biggest freedom killing politician in history during the last presidential election. The WV Dems almost elected a convict instead in the primaries for Pete sakes!!

Easily the worst. Living in OR and working in WA, I probably go without my firearm for less than 10 hours each year. It goes everywhere with me. I love this state.
