Very cool video even if you don't ride...

It's more cool for the folks who bike for transportation, rather than fitness.

I was just watching an interesting/related video about cycling in Amsterdam:

If it gets more asses on seats and creates a more bicycle friendly culture i'm all for it. I'll never use "assisted" bicycles though... it grates against my very core. Besides... I sweat standing still if I start thinking too hard... this thing would never prevent me from sweating on a ride.

oh an first to call out a lawsuit after someone riding one of these "assisted" bikes clobbers a pedestrian and blames it on the assist unit. because NYC.

If I lived someplace with more hills, I'd probably give more thought to a Pedego or FlyKly or similar. As it is, it's billiard-table flat here in Broad Ripple and it's hard enough to get to my target heart rate between here and Kroger if I venture out of the top couple gears.

Also, I was given to understand that motorized vehicles are technically a violation of city ordinance on the Monon Trail; although there's a company that does Segway tours on the Cultural Trail and the downtown part of the Canal Towpath, so I should probably go look up the actual legal particulars sometime...
