I can't believe ABC actually covered this but they did. The head of Interpol, who is American, commented on armed citizens as possibly being the most logical way to prevent terrorism against soft targets like the Westgate Mall in Kenya. Here is the link: http://abcnews.go.com/Blotter/exclusive-westgate-interpol-chief-ponders-armed-citizenry/story?id=20637341.

The happily disarmed populations of Europe must be rolling their eyes over that.

Here is a link with analysis and video from the 1st day of the Westgate Mall attack: http://www.activeresponsetraining.net/video-of-the-nairobi-mall-attack.

Thanks for making this its own thread... i was too lazy.

From the ABC article..

Noble said there are really only two choices for protecting open societies from attacks like the one on Westgate mall where so-called "soft targets" are hit: either create secure perimeters around the locations or allow civilians to carry their own guns to protect themselves.
... snip ...
"Ask yourself: If that was Denver, Col., if that was Texas, would those guys have been able to spend hours, days, shooting people randomly?" Noble said, referring to states with pro-gun traditions. "What I'm saying is it makes police around the world question their views on gun control. It makes citizens question their views on gun control. You have to ask yourself, 'Is an armed citizenry more necessary now than it was in the past with an evolving threat of terrorism?' This is something that has to be discussed."

I wonder who's the next target of a corruption probe...

I also wonder how many bodies they're going to find tied to that guy... whether he dropped them or not...

Did you check out this guy's resume?

This is as weird to hear coming from him as would be for some Baptist preacher suddenly start yelling "Ia! Ia! Cthulhu fhtagn!" from the pulpit.

Experience tells me differently, but...I do believe in fairies. I do! I do!

Moments, no. But lots of people seem to be immune to hours or days of lucidity. ;)
