I could care less how an issued gun looks, feels, sounds, or whatever, so long as it works. Now, if I spend my money on something, & it's not darn near as good as it can be, yeah, I'm probably gonna be a little disheartened by it. I understand what you're saying OP. While it's prob not a functional issue, if you're not happy with the gun, send it back to be fixed or replaced. S&W has some of the best service around so use it while you can.

I sold it without firing a shot. I just found it annoying to feel the slide moving and hear the rattle. My ocd wouldn't allow it regardless of the performance potential of the pistol. My VP9 doesn't have a fit that grates on my nerves and also performs fantastically. Ive never owned a Beretta 92 so that will probably be my next "fun" gun. I don't think 92's rattle but i will check the fit just in case.

Wow--purchasing and then selling a lifesaving tool without ever even assessing its functional potential leaves me a bit speechless.

You obviously have never used a military M9...

Did you feel the rattle was negative enough to disclose it to the buyer?

Or a military 1911. "Shake, rattle and roll" was their theme song, but the few with good triggers shot very well.

On a positive note I think you will really like the HK VP9.

I don't even know if any of my guns rattle.

    From my Motorola StarTAC.

Its overall the best striker fired pistol I've ever tried. The only thing it needed was some Talon rubber grips since the grip felt a bit slippery out of the box.
