Around my area most of the electricity comes from coal fired plants. Tesla's are popular here as well. I always make sure to compliment the Tesla owners choosing such a nice coal-powered car with remote exhaust capability.
BTW, if your Tesla gets stolen is it now called an Edison?

My local Sheetz just installed eight Tesla chargers. It's WV so the electricity is obviously from coal. It made me chuckle.

Think of the prius. How many people brag about how much better their car is for the environment. Guess what. That giant ship that brought your lil car over burned a shit ton of fuel on the way. That plant that built it? Yeah that also is not very “environmental friendly” I would put money on my 89 chevy with over 340,000 miles on her has had less of a carbon footprint then your toy car.
