Sounds like the good old versatile shotgun with birdshot for drones, Buckshot for dipshits and slugs for dipshits 100 yards away is the way forward in drone world.
I was shooting a Ruger Precision in 6.5 yesterday with a nice vortex scope that was perfectly dialed in with precision handloads... couldn't hit the steel at 300 yards, embarrassingly (gave up after 3 shots). My trigger control wasn't great, first time shooting a 6.5 and first time in many years shooting a scoped bolt gun.
Then I pulled out my 1943-made Springfield M1 Garand and was smacking the steel over and over using iron sights every time with M2 ball.
