I broke down and ordered a Manticore folding charging handle and a Corvus Defensio shell deflector. This thing is done, but I’d still like to cobble up a way of putting objective covers on the 3x.

Likes pretty much everything in every caliber.
Well, once again hanging out on this forum has cost me a big chunk of change. I have 20" Steyr AUG A3 M1 USR in black en route to my dealer. Now I'm trying to figure which optic to put on it and which light to install. I'm leaning heavily towards the Aimpoint Duty RDS and possibly a Streamlight light with a built-in green laser.
I appreciate all of the great info in this thread as it helped in selecting the non-NATO stock version and finding the options for improving the trigger (I'm going to order the red Steyr hammer and sear springs).
Do the Steyr AUGs run OK on the PMC Bronze .223 FMJ ammunition?
I forgot to include a picture. Here's the vendor's picture. Due to living in California, this is how it has to be configured in order for me to buy one.

Palmetto has this deal - Steyr Aug A3 M1 .300AAC Rifle w/ Steyr Optic & Steyr Aug 20" Interchangeable .223/5.56 Barrel.
Not really thrilled about the factory optic.
I would like to get it but would rather have a shorter .223 barrel, you think it would be hard to work out a trade with someone or just sell it maybe? Not sure how much a .223 16" barrel would cost.
Thoughts?
PSA also has the flat top receiver with no optic for $1500

add a 300 blackout barrel from steyr for $600 (looks like they do not have black right now but they have green)
