I think it’s probably mission dependent.

Definitely agree if I were shooting PRS.

For me, shooting this 6” barrel in Steel Challenge I’m only looking for pistol type accuracy.

Even though the throats are a little affected, I did check at 25 yards and it’s good enough for what I need it for.

    03RN,

That problem is easily fixed! Several of us here, including @Outpost 75 (a retired industry guy who's an encyclopedia of tech knowledge and experience), spend lots of time at the Cast Boolits forum: https://castboolits.gunloads.com/forum. There is a member there with the handle of "DougGuy" who does a very professional job of uniforming cylinder throats, chamber issues, etc. He can get your cylinder better than you can imagine. I'll PM his contact information to you.

Thank you, he's the one who did the first cylinder. I forgot who it was so I dug through my old emails for his contact info.

I was really impressed with the difference that it does for reliability.

When you wear out your next cylinder, and you will, you will have the solution still at hand...actually depending on how proud Smith is of the cylinder, it may be smart to have another on the self.

Got my cylinder back from Doug and shot 100 rounds today. 50 mags and 50 +p specials with no issues.

Hopefully it'll stay that way for a while.

I got "DougGuy" to hone a 45acp and 45LC cylinder for my Ruger Blackhawk convertible. Reasonably priced and quick turnaround too. This was about 3 years ago. I would definitely use him again.
