From the ignorant column: Has anyone noticed the Beretta Nano sight removability?

I just saw this video on the Nano-I'm not a fan, but I came across this video and if you just skip to 4:35, can anyone tell me who else is doing this and if no one else is, why isn't everyone doing this? Is there some flaw in this thought process that I don't get? Loc-tite would help any 'vibration' issues, etc, no?

I picked up a Nano today, i'll let you know if theres a flaw in the sight installation method after a few thousand rounds.
So far I like the looks of it.

Hopefully it will be replacing both a Kahr PM9 and CW9.

I just handled one the other day. I liked the trigger a lot.

Congrats!! I'm not a SFA fan is what I meant, but I have to say, in my uneducated opinion, they seem to have broken some molds. I'm looking forward to seeing your review.

I don't recall any other handguns with a similar sight setup on the market, but that could just be me having a bad memory. It's not really a bad idea if you think about it. I've broken **ahem** a couple of pistols trying to deal with sights pressed into place using 200 + PSI hydraulic rams. I'd love to have sights where I could simply use an allen wrench and a heat gun...assuming they stay in place over the long haul. On a pistol that small my worry would be whether or not the fairly violent forces working on that little guy's slide would loosen the screws over time.

    Time will tell, I suppose.

After about 500 rds through my nano all of a sudden coming up for the next shot I noticed my front sight was gone. I spent about 45 minutes with a magnet combing the grass to no avail. I called Beretta and they immediately sent me a new one. It was here in 3 days. The rep made no comment on whether this was a problem with the front sight or an aberration. He did say to put a drop of blue loc tite on it when installing. In any event I got trijicon night sights and never did install the replacement they sent me. I did however use the loctite on the trijicons and have had no problems in the last 1000 rds. I do check the sights on occasion just to make sure they are still tight and in place.

Wow! Actual guns broken over sight install. How did you feel immediately afterwards?
