I remember the discussion nyeti is referring to. That was one of the things I particularly enjoyed about this class. While not trying to make anybody feel their age, there were probably 200 years of practical shotgun experience on that range, counting the instructors and students. Imagine having a panel discussion, debating the positives and negatives of each approach, with plenty of data points to share.
And the only thing that got treated in a hostile manner was the targets. Responses were along the line of "We tried that with x number of officers for y years, and found these results."
One thing I forgot to mention in my AAR, is the fact that one of the instructors (Wayne) is left handed, and ran a Mossberg 590. Given their abundance in the marketplace, and that a fair number of people shoot left-handed, that's a neat value-add for the trainees.
And it's a lot of fun watching Wayne shoot.
