    Let's list good shooting/self-defense/survival/tactics blogs

Can we list people's favorite blogs that pertain to shooting, self-defense, survival and tactics?

I'd like to avoid the blogs that are either press releases for the latest gadget (for example, Military Times Gear Scout) or ones that focus on gun politics (too many to name).

Feel free to post a quick review along with the link.

    I'll start.

    http://vuurwapenblog.com/ Great in-depth comparison reviews.

itstactical.com A little to heavy on plugging gear or selling patches but there are some occasional nuggets.

thebangswitch.com Appears to actually use the gear they are reviewing

soldiersystems.net Gear, especially military gear heavy, but the "Gunfighter Moments" make it worth checking out every once in a while.

http://mountainguerrilla.wordpress.com Musings of a former SF soldier.

http://sharpdefense.wordpress.com/ the blog of Paul Sharp of TPI fame

http://immediateactionjiujitsu.com/ Cecil Burch's BJJ blog (he's a BJJ BB that's been influenced by Southnarc and Crazy Monkey)

Even my list is a more gear-centric than I prefer.

I'll add to my list if I can recover my old bookmarks.

Check out RECOIL magazine which has a TON of comparison and how-to's for guns and gear and all the gear featured is shown with a price and where to find it. They just started a new sister magazine called OFFGRID whixh focuses more of survival gear tips tricks and tactics with the same stuff as regards to cost and where to get it. My favorite article out of their first issue was "You have $100 and one hour to shop at 1 store for survival gear/hunker down at home supplies. What do you buy?"

    http://www.recoilweb.com

    http://www.offgridweb.com

P.S. RECOILs flagship article for issue 1 of the magazine was for the HK416

P.S.S. RECOILS original Cheif Editor was forced to resign after a slip of the tongue bad mouthing gun owners about not being allowed to own the HK MP7. He put the blame on HK saying they had stated it that way. HK responded by denying their statement in his fashion. Several other gun companies (BCM, Silencerco and Magpul to name a few) threatened to pull their advertising deal from the magazine. After apologizing and admitting that the statements where his fault but still being a complete @$$ about it, he resigned. Lesson: Dont bad mouth the guys who give guns to SPECWAR and dont make American gun owners sound like dumb idiots who shouldnt be trusted with firearms.

Other than that little butthead they're a fantastic magazine

Dave Spaulding's site is always informative to me:

And for an alternative look at some common issues, I like to plug my own blog:
    http://thinkinggunfighter.blogspot.com/

And Kathy Jackson does a good site focusing more on women and guns:

...and their new editor is a genuinely nice guy who let me borrow his shotgun to shoot a 3 Gun match.
    Books. Bikes. Boomsticks.

I can explain it to you. I can’t understand it for you.
