1982 Senate Report on the Right to Keep and Bear Arms

I picked this up from another site...

The report is titled The Right to Keep and Bear Arms and was apparently produced in February of 1982. It is a Report of the Subcommittee on the Constitution of the Committee on the Judiciary - US Senate, Ninety-Seventh Congress.

Many of you may be familiar with this document, but this is the first time I have seen it.

    It is very interesting.

I ran across it several years ago. Well written but really frustrating that it has been largely ignored. The antis like to claim that Heller and McDonald were rulings based on a new and radical interpretation of the 2A but this is proof that the ideas were mainstream at least twenty years prior.

It's interesting how many of the names on that report are the same names we're dealing with today.

The Senate has a sub-committee on the Constitution? Who knew the Senate even knew the Constitution exists?!

Think of it as a perverted version of "Know thy enemy".
