    New Years Resolution

I shot a lot (for me) of rounds in 2016, right at 8500 give or take. I spread these around a smattering of different guns. For 2017 I resolve that 90% or more of what I shoot will be thru a gen 4 G19. I'll shoot my PPS M2 enough to be comfortable carrying it when needed.

I also resolve to carry a gen 4 G19 as much as realistically possible. I've been one to go small for social NPE's in the past, that's done. When work calls for the PPS, so be it.

I'm going to dip my toes into IDPA in 2017.

Finally, my goal is to get to 2 classes minimum in 2017.

What are your resolutions / goals for the year?

    Dead lift 475

    Dry fire daily (10 mins)

    Cardio 4x a week

Remember its software, not hardware, that makes you a better shooter.

Only shoot and carry my pair of glock 19s

Keep on living to fight another day. (That requires training the mind, the body as well as maintaining and adding skills.)
There's nothing civil about this war.

This is what I have been thinking/practicing in late '16 and want to continue in 2017:
    Increase rigorousness of my training:
A larger number of shorter dry fire sessions.
More / more regular diagnostic live fire sessions focusing on specific skills or deficiencies.
Increase balance of time on carry guns (G19)/gear vs. gamer guns (Tanfo Stock 2).
    More training, fewer matches.
Work on what I am NOT good at, not what I am good at.
A reliable 1 second reload from 1st mag pouch (Production gamer gear).
Translate training performance to match performance more effectively.
    More training class variety/instructors.
More level 2-3 major USPSA matches; maybe Nationals this year if time permits.
Maximize training value per minute spent and round fired.

    • Shoot in at least one competion
    • More miles on the trainer
    • Attend at least two pistol classes
    • Finally start working on those Android/iOS projects I've had rattling around in my head

Exercise, dry fire, eat better daily; start a more in depth training journal; try to get at least 2 training courses in; get involved at a good club/range; quit smoking. That's the big stuff anyhow.

Balance preparing for the future with being fully present in the moment.

    Lead by example every day.

    Get 100% on Dot Torture

Buy at least one more G19 gen 4 so I have one for carry and one for shooting

Get the guns I have squared away with support gear and ammo instead of buying more guns (except for duplicates of carry guns)

    Lose 35 pounds

I bought 20,000 9mm rounds in 2016 (among other stuff) in anticipation of the Hillary apocalypse, Since that thankfully didn't happen, I'm planning to do my best to use them wisely in 2017.

Other things- In zone for GySgt this year, hopefully I get selected.....
    - Finally going to finish (one class left) the College Degree I've been slowly working on since graduating from high school 17 years ago.
