Regarding the above arguments about screw vs non-screw crowns… after this experience Im only looking for screw-downs. I have been swimming in pools, fishing, etc in this watch for about five years, though, so maybe it’s my fault?
Of course it's your fault. A Marine could fuck up an anvil 🤣

A marine in a locked room with 3 bowling balls only really comes out one way:

    A broken bowling ball
    A pregnant bowling ball
    A lost bowling ball

Sigh…. Too much truth in this statement

    Way I heard this was:
You give a Marine four ball bearings and he’ll lose one, sell one, break one, and the last one will somehow be pregnant. He’ll steal one to replace the one he lost or sold. I added that last part thinking of 40 flak jackets out in 29 Palms…

VCDgrips got me into watches again, after 25 years of thinking a Casio ProTek is all I needed. YVK has been telling me about his Sinn non stop, although I note his latest watch was a Duro. Here he is modeling it.

In any event, I recently got a Sinn 105 UTC and am thrilled with it.

Nice piece GJM. I’ve liked Sinn ever since I got into watches a couple decades ago. Finally bought myself one a few years ago for my 20th anniversary. Prices have gone up quite a bit in the last several years, but I still think they’re a great value compared to what they’re asking for current Rolex/Omega etc these days.

Sinn really is such an awesome watch branch that doesn’t carry the pretentiousness of a lot of others. That new U50 Hydro is pretty neat. But prices have indeed gotten to a place where they’re starting to compete with some of the bigger brands.

Picture of a pretentious watch brand to keep the pictures going. Still debating if this one is gonna stick around.

The Sinn 857 UTC sure is a good looking watch. YVK likes the 856 because it is more understated.

I like the black DLC coating and would like to see more watches offered with this finish.
