    PX4 Match Hammer Questions

Recent reading has revealed that the LTT Match Hammer does more than just look cool—it actually enhances performance. I already have the OP trigger bar in my PX4… dig it. Wondering if I’ve been missing out on optimal PX4 awesomeness by not pairing the bar with the hammer.

    A few questions…

    1. It’s the same part for the 92 and the PX4, right? Looks like Beretta and LTT both sell it. Seems like it’s all the same thing.

    2. Reduction in SA pre-travel is touted as a/the primary benefit. Would it improve any other aspects of the trigger pull, beyond what the OP bar does on its own? Weight/stacking? Over travel?

    3. Says “gunsmith only” for installation—looks like there could be some filing involved. Anyone tried the install themselves? I will say my OP trigger bar dropped right in, with no fitting required.

    Thanks!

    1. Yes, the Beretta 92 match hammer will fit the 92 and PX4

    2. I've installed 3 of them, 2 in 92s and 1 in a PX4. It makes for a very nice trigger with a very short reset, everything else seems relatively the same to me but I don't pay attention to overtravel. In a PX4 you'll need the LTT trigger bar.

    3. Use this video https://youtu.be/aSpxq9C0TD4

The install literally takes minutes. After I found this video I installed a new match hammer again in one 92 and trashed the original one. In the first install I removed material from the hammer and while the install "worked" I decided to do it again. It's very easy and requires only a small file.

Gotcha. I appreciate the input. Looks like LTT and Beretta are out of stock, at the moment. But I’ll grab one when they’re available again. Seems worth $45 to see if it’s worth $45.

It may not be quite as good, but my PX4 (bought from a forum member) has this on it:

It's been good to me so far. Yes, it does fit the PX4

Geez. It's a hammer-rich environment. Now, of course... I must obsess over determining which one is "better."

    Thanks for the tip, though.
