    Henry Kissinger Dead at 100

He was a controversial figure who served Presidents starting with JFK. He had an outsized influence on US foreign policy over decades. RIP.

If we have to march off into the next world, let us walk there on the bodies of our enemies.

That’s my rule so I’ll let the dead speak about the dead.

Once you’ve been to Cambodia, you’ll never stop wanting to beat Henry Kissinger to death with your bare hands. You will never again be able to open a newspaper and read about that treacherous, prevaricating, murderous scumbag sitting down for a nice chat with Charlie Rose or attending some black-tie affair for a new glossy magazine without choking. Witness what Henry did in Cambodia – the fruits of his genius for statesmanship – and you will never understand why he’s not sitting in the dock at The Hague next to Milošević.

One thing he got right: “the reason that politics at the university level are so much worse than on the national level is because the stakes are so small.”

    Right on.

He was so old that nobody remembers anything about him. He was a Jewish refugee that left Germany before WW2. I recall that he was a pretty good diplomate and negotiator.

The often-misattributed quote “I’ve never wished a man dead, but I have read some obituaries with great pleasure,” comes to mind here.
