Yup! Might as well stock up,… Every freaking YouTuber on the planet is now on line claiming we’re about to be short Ammo and guns again. 🤷*♂️

Think maybe now would be a good time for me to take Bear Creek Arsenal up on the 10% discount offer lol 🤣🤦🤷

Whether it's toilet paper or ammo, I'm getting really sick of idiots in panic stricken America.

This is the title of an email I got this afternoon from a deal aggregator website that may or may not have a tab at the top of the forum (and I'm sure some here are on the same email list) : Alert! Ammo Shortage and Price Increase Expected!

Of course there's no information to back up that claim and the first 8 deals (out of the 20 in the email) are for ammo vendors.

I understand the need to drive sales, but firearms marketing is our own worst enemy. Am I being unreasonably cynical?

Went to a couple big box sporting goods stores today to pick up some more pre-planned 10mm. The shelves were for the most part full with a few things missing here and there. Prices were in general poor. That combined with the fact that many people are feeling the effect of Bidenomics and spending what used to be discretionary income on food and gas. has me thinking there will be limits to this crises. Hell - I wouldn’t doubt this is a ploy by some distributors to get rid of their inventory 😉

Our community does tend to like Fear Porn. And the eminent threat of whatever is a convenient enabler to go ahead and get that thing you can't justify in your budget.

My challenge is large pistol and rifle primers. I have <1k of the former and less 500 of the latter.

But I haven't been able to find any (at a price I can stomach) for months.

I'm beginning to think I might need to instead buy small primer .45ACP brass.

I wonder if there are .30-30 cases that take small rifle primers?

Freedom Arms used to offer large pistol primer size bushings so their original larger pistol primer bases could be converted to use small rifle primers. They may still have a line on where to get such a thing. There would also be a potential issue with the small rifle primers being shorter than large rifle primers. Your firing pin may or may not be long enough to get around that. If you have a lot of patience, and a lathe you could make your own bushings, complete with a smaller flash hole and sitting at the proper height to do the whole thing right. IIRC, Freedom Arms bushings were simply loctited in place.

Just when you think you've heard all of the hairbrained schemes the world has to offer, I post again.

Pistol were all non-catalogued/not commercially available. Rifle, a public sku off the top of my head was 24447, the 64gr load for ICE.

Given enough order, manufacturers will box it however you like. Savings varies, but can be cumulative. 50rd boxes are handy for inventory and some handling, most places don't shoot much and are just fine as is. I like bulk packs from a trash- and time-management perspective. Students will fart around picking single rounds out of styros, trash needs handled, and partial boxes back on the shelf are a nuisance.

My grab-ammo for a range day is 300-500 rounds kept in a GP pouch with a box top ripped off for sku and lot. No fuss, no trash.

If an ammo maker wanted to get rid of contract overrun ammo, would selling it without bothering with 50 round boxes be a reasonable way to do so?
Yes. Seen Speer the most, they seem to make it more publicly available than others, but not as much in recent years. I've seen G2 bulk packed in 250s or 500s. I remember some .40 GDHP in aluminum blazer cases in 500rd bulk packs. Overrun or reclass, whatever.

My order from Velocity, which was placed on Friday, is already at my local UPS facility and scheduled to arrive tomorrow.
