This was a project in collaboration with the Colt Custom Shop. The very first Colt Government Combat Enthusiast Edition was a run of 10 1911s from the Colt Custom Shop with the purpose of generating some coin for the Wounded Warrior Foundation (a percentage of each gun was donated to the WWF). That’s the official reason raison d'ętre for the gun anyway.
The unofficial reason is that a friend and I got to talking with Brent at the Colt Custom Shop with a desire to do something charitable. One thing led to another, and we decided to build the following:
