The included sling leaves something to be desired, but that's a minor complaint for a great gun.

Get a Blue Force Gear Vickers Sling. Made right here in the Savannah area. I like the padded the best. BTW, nice looking rifle.

Strongly agree with tmoore. My sling stash is close in quantity to my holster stash. Ching slings for bolt guns, Vickers for autochuckers.

BTW, how does the rifle shoot?

200 rounds through the Colt so far with a mix of Remington, PMC and Aguila. No problems thus far. Rifle shoots great...it's got a very unique smell when you put a few rounds through it in rapid succession. It's a sweet aroma, very different from my M&P pistols.

I'm stopping by F3 Tactical tonight--a new fun store in Chantilly by Lowe's--to get this thing properly slung. I'm looking at a BFG VCAS padded sling + a way to mount the sling right in front of the delta ring and at the rear of the stock.

Whoa--where did that place pop up from?

Practically just opened. I stopped by today and will start a new thread with my thoughts.

For the impatient: great shop and amazing owner. More geared toward the carbine / rifle crowd right now but who knows what the future holds once their FFL gets processed.

If you can operate a drill, get this for the handguard
    http://www.impactweaponscomponents.c...d-micro-mount/

If you cannot, they sell a dumb version
    http://www.impactweaponscomponents.c...-detach-sling/

For the rear, I would also get this
    http://www.impactweaponscomponents.c...-mount-n-slot/

If you are right-handed mount the front sling swivel on the bolt-catch side and the rear on the ejection-port side.

Alternately you can thread the sling through the stock but I'm a fan of being able to easily remove the sling from the gun entirely.

These uppers have the QD Micro Mount in the handguards and the lower has the sling threaded through the MOE stock.

    While we're talking about slings....
    http://militarytimes.com/blogs/gears...ar-vcas-sling/

"The Marine Corps adopted the Vickers Combat Application Sling for use with their M27 Infantry Assault Rifle (HK416) and has approved it’s use with issued M4, M4A1 and M16 rifles. The NSN makes it easier for members of the Army, Navy and Air Force to get their hands on a quality 2-point adjustable sling, too.

Your unit S4 will likely greet you with a smile and and may even offer you a fresh spitter when you come into their office with an actual NSN instead of a page torn out of a gun magazine."

I have been looking for a very good way to mount a sling to the rear of my MOE handguard (4 slot top). The dumb version seems to be the best one for this application. Thanks so much for this post.
