Sounds similar to Nosler's Ballistic Tip and Hornady's SST. Both are tipped bullets designed for thin-skinned game.

Deer hunters are tired of tracking blood trails......

So we sell them standard bullets with extra snake oil marketing.................

I've hit deer with close range .308 and .50cal rounds that literally removed the deer's heart from it's chest, and yet they still managed to run far enough into the brush for me to have to trail them.

I supposed a 3-4" wide exit wound is insufficient...................

I have had quite a few deer fall right where I shot them.

Cartridge most likely to generate that result for me?
The .250 Savage with a 100 grain Remington PSP Core-Lokt.
Factory and my reloads did about the same. I think the relatively light
bullet opens fast and so kills quickly. It will still shoot through a deer on a
    broadside shot, however.

Had deer run when shot with the 150 grain Remington Core-Lokt bullet in a .30-06.
Went 25 or 30 yards and then jumped off the deer trail and piled up.
It had been raining so there was no blood evident. I almost walked past but
noticed the rear hooves just in time. I knew it was most likely down as
where it had been standing there were two pieces of hair about an inch and a
half long, lying eighteen inches apart.

Shot a buck with buckshot from my 16 gauge Model 12 (No. 1, I think.)
It fell on the spot but immediately got up and was shot again.
Felt like a grouse hunt for a bit there.

I can trail but I'd rather not have to.

Deer are just like people. Sometimes they fall and sometimes they run even with their heart and lungs turned to mush. I personally like a bit softer bullet for deer but also want an exit wound.

Win used to load the ballistic tip, so is this supposed to replace that load?

I thought being able to track blood trails was just part of hunting...guess not.

I have shot many deer with many different bullets/buckshot, and arrows. Shot placement trumps ALL. Heart/lung shots will kill the deer, but CNS will drop em in their tracks. A good vital hit will result with a deer on the ground 99% of the time, so that is where I aim to hit.

I wouldn't get to caught up in looking for the new magic bullet.
