Most Gen 5’s that I’ve own or shot have all been capable of good accuracy, but not that one. I’m a big fan of shooting the most accurate gun I can because if it sucks, it’s me. I can see both arguments though, you can’t buy skill but you can buy performance in some cases. IE, my Chambers PHATWMG, its almost effortless to shoot >98 @25 even on days when I would struggle with a less forgiving gun. Most people that you see at the range are incapable of “outshooting” a factory gun or at least matching its level of accuracy. However, most on this forum are not typical range goers and probably would see higher level of performance with a more capable gun.

    Totally agree with you.

    I have a TSO that’s like that.

I’m thinking that the Alien with a fixed barrel might put some good accuracy numbers down but I haven’t put a lot of rounds down range….

I love your PHATWMG, it’s very cool. I love guns that work.

Some factory guns can be surprisingly capable though. I bought a P320 X-Vtac a couple of months ago and installed an CHPWS filler plate, HRS RMR and an Apex flat trigger. I did not really like the trigger during dryfire, but took it to the range and the first group during zeroing at 25 was a 99. A few clicks down and left and it was good with another 99 and then I shot and cleaned the No Fail with it almost straight out of the box.

    Nice (and impressive shooting!)

Maybe there is something to the P365XL… I’m about 500 rounds through one that I’ve recently picked up and it shoots really well. Below shows 100 rounds that I threw down range (25 yards), to test accuracy against my beloved G26.5. If I took my time, I’m confident that I’d keep them all in one soft ball sized hole.

I am still getting used to the manual safety; it could be a touch wider, but it’s manageable. Bill drill times will continue to improve as I get used to the thinner grip and manual safety. I’ll keep working with it and most importantly testing the reliability as the round count goes up.

For reference, I absolutely hated the G43X/48 so this is a really pleasant surprise.

I have had issue with the thinner grip too. Someone suggested the Hogue "Handall" to make it a little larger. I put it on today and have not had the opportunity to shoot it yet. First impression, I do like how it fits in the hand. It is not as easy to press the mag release, so I may order an extended one.

Thanks, I am just used to shooting Glocks so it’s something I need to adjust to. I’ll be doing a lot of dry practice between range sessions.

I liked the hogue a lot when shooting. Drawing was too challenging to get as quick and solid of a grip and not worth the trade off for me. If it didn’t have the finger groove I’d probably use it.

I found a Razorback module to be quite an improvement for
my XL but, still a little squirmy in the hand, then a couple of
weeks ago I put on a Talon Pro kit, it required a little fitting
but I'm quite pleased with the results, notably a fuller, positive
    grip.

I've noticed that in dry practice too.

“Why would you make a tiny gun into a larger gun?!”

Because the tiny gun shoots well and even better as a larger gun, lol.
