As slow as they are, it doesnt look like theyd be that hard to hit with a rifle.

I have shot drones with a rifle (it's a long story)...they are tougher than you think. You really gotta go for the propellers or motor. A rifle works better for motor shots (easy to armor over the motor), but I found #6 shot on full power bird loads works well for propeller hits.
