My roommate maintains that the purpose of a firearm like this is to allow for an intended victim to yell from the other side of a door "Don't come in! I've got a gun!" and not be lying.
That would look bada$$ with a threaded barrel & suppressor.

    With a deuce-five, no less!

Incidentally, the dates in my initial post are incorrect: The years of production were between 1912 and 1914.

Down the road from Quantrill's big raid.
Back then a GSW from a .25 auto to an area of your body that didn't leave you DRT was a bit more serious than it is now.

Took me until the weekend to get into the safe; I guess they came in "derp" and "standard". Not that "standard" is a whole hell of a lot better in terms of function, to be blunt, but there it is:

Do you have a closeup of the front sight? It is my understanding that none of them came from the factory that way. It would be super interesting if that were the Roaring Twenties equivalent of a set of Trijicon HDs... o.O
(I know that the irons on my Colt 1902, while miniscule by modern standards, are pretty high-speed aftermarket additions, given their time period.)

^^^You got me thinking: that rear notch/blade looks like it was done by a cross between australopithecus and Richard Heinie...
