Actually, when Libya came apart at the seams, they said people with a dial up connection could get emails and stuff out, nothing else was working for computers for a while.
It's odd, but the first bit of that, is such a familiar noise, almost comforting and exciting at the same time. Remember when getting online was a big deal, and everything was new and exciting? That noise was new knowledge, a new way to connect with friends, access to a whole new world of stuff never seen before. I like that dialup noise.
*I would still hate to be stuck with dialup, though. Don't confuse nostalgia with stupidity.
