    Picked this up yesterday. Have to decide if I'm going to keep it and if I do a load for it. The original owner is a friend of mine. He has never shot it, but has misplaced the key for the "Texas" box and the other things that came with it new.

    I just went and checked and I was mistaken. Thought I saw a transfer bar in there but whatever it is doesn't come up to the firing pin.

    What you saw was likely the hammer block. It works opposite of the way a transfer bar does. When uncocked, it raises into position to block hammer movement if dropped on the hammer.

    On the 624, no not yet. I welcome suggestions on who could do a good job of it. I was thinking of SDM.
