You just made me sad. A 4" M-66 was my first issue duty weapon.

And FWIW I am a grandpa... four times over.

It just hurts to be reminded of it on a manly-man forum...

Here is my 4" Model 19. The stocks are by Craig Spegel. I would call it a Grandpa gun, except I bought it new so I am the first owner and I am not a Grandpa.

Is that a factory 4" round butt? May I ask what year you bought it?

I bought it in 1985. It is a factory gun that started with a 2.5 inch barrel and round butt. The forcing cone split after shooting it some. A friend who was an S&W armorer sent it to the factory to rebarrel and it came back with the 4 inch tube. It's the first handgun I ever bought.

Thanks! The 4" RB guns are a little rare, and I was going to ask if it had any unusual markings.

Tom, that is a very sweet revolver. How do you like those grips? I am thinking about a set for my 3" GP100, but wanted to ask some folks how they like them before dropping the 90 bucks.

    Thanks very much.

While I don't own the grips I played with a MC at the local pawn shop. For my average sized mitts I find there to be waaay too much thickness at the backstrap. So much so it affects how much finger I get on the trigger. That hurts my ability run the trigger well.
