New contender in the "basic" 1911 game

    CZ-USA
    $849 MSRP

I have to think this is a Dan Wesson pistol made inexpensively rather than cheaply. If that's so, this should be a winner. I think?

I hadn't heard of it--but wish they had avoided that oversized rollmark.

I don't think they could resist, being so used to tiny short slide sides. All that expanse of steel needed to be filled with.....something.

Dovetailed front sight on an A1 style? Nice.

I may have to buy one and have the Wealthy Tinkerer take a look at it.

It will be interesting to see what these actually sell for, and if the quality justifies the MSRP compared to other well-known manufacturers' basic models selling at around the same price point or less.

I'm going to bet on better than even odds that this pistol is made in house by Dan Wesson, which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of CZ-USA.

It looks good. Sounds good. Hopefully it is good. Wonder when they'll be available?

I want a 1911 in 9mm, and Dan Wesson makes a nice one. If CZ made this o e in 9mm...I might consider it.

Hmmm...I do like a retro 1911 with a front dovetail. If it's a series 70, I'd be even more interested. It's about the same price as a Springfield Mil Spec though.
