Inforce APL and my HK P30S

I bought a APL by Inforce back in Jan. Long story short it wouldn't properly mount to my P30S so I ended up going with the TLR-1 and it turn out to be a pretty good light so far.

Anyway When I contacted Inforce I told them about my issues and that they need to make a mounting system like Streamlight has on there TLR-1. Well looks like they did it.

I sent then a Email asking for a trade in Gen 1 for Gen 2. My light has been sitting in the safe since it all happen. (January)

Hopefully Inforce will do the right thing and will exchange it. We will see?

Hopefully the sales rep remembers all the emails I sent back then and there wont be any problems.

Dot Dubeau gave a fast reply back and said they would replace my defective APL and sent me a RA#.

Now all I have to do is go ship it out.

Last time it cost me almost 20bucks to send out a MOD TRIDENT side opener.

I just hate shipping stuff now a days.

Yeah, shipping is a bitch these days, priority flat rate is your friend. Are they sending you a Gen 2?

Yes Gen2 !

In January I sent Dot a email telling her of my problems and how Inforce would be better off using a mounting system like the TLR-1.
I told her even if there was a bit of back and forth play the screw can be tighten down enough to stop it from moving.
Tomorrow I will send it out.

I will have Tony make me another IWB-Light holster based off his excellent V3 IWB .

Custom version V3 IWB-Light for my P30S /Gen 2 APL
#1 Pull Dot Loops ( I refuse to use Jhooks/clips)
#2 Straight Drop ( I prefer a straight drop with pistols that have under a 4inch barrel . (Like my P30S)
#3 Low Ride ( I just hate medium ride height IWB holsters.)

Just got done mounting it several times !!!

I ran out of adjustments. The screw cant be further tighten down? So it has play on the rail. (Side to side play )

But the BACK AND FORTH play is gone!! The main thing I didn't like with Gen 1.

I will take it to the range and see if it holds up ! Even If it holds up I wont use it. I just cant get past having side to side play.

So the good
No more back and forth play on P30rail
Gen 2 APL seems to fit my sucky IWB-L APL Gen 1 from zeroconcealment a 2 piece IWB-L ( Tony/JM fold over V3 IWB-L TLR1 blows it away.

The bad
needs more adjustment in order to mount properly to my P30S.

BTW
I drop my pistol a few times on the carpet (waist high)so that it hit the bezel and it stayed on the rail. I also smack the bezel on the table twice to see if it would pop off.


So for now I will stick with the TLR-1 300 lumen OR try to find a NIB surefire x300 . The model before the ultra

Looking forward to your thoughts on this new generation of the APL.

I wanted to add just because the gen1 and Gen 2 doesn't properly mount on my HK P30S doesn't mean it wont mount on your pistol. Especially if your pistol isn't a HK P30.
If I could just turn the screw another 3 or 4 turns it would fix or stop the side to side play.

I guess I'm stuck with the TLR-1 for now unless surefire will make a compact light ? I send them Emails asking for such and I hope some of you guys do as well.

Really the TLR-1 isn't that much bigger than APL. It has a lifetime warranty. Plus its brighter and has a lot longer runtime.

I like the APL toggle at first .( press hard is momentary press lite locks it on) Training I've locked it on when wanting to flash several times . The TLR lever works best for me.

I just wish streamlight would fully pot there LED . That one reason I like the APL over the streamlight .
