Looks like a copy with Springfild instead of Springfield. Also the lettering is uneven. Shouldn't it be Marcus Registras not Registrar ? Looks like a . between city and state instead of a , odd.
What is the wording on the dustcover part of the frame in the 2nd picture ?
Something about this reminds me of an article about 3rd world copies of well known arms.

Down the road from Quantrill's big raid.
None of the Norincos I ever saw looked like that. IN fact those were nice enough guns that I know a couple of people who built USPSA guns using Norincos as the base gun.

That thing looks hand made to me, perhaps by someone using a S&W to copy the markings off of.

Looks to be a Norinco 1911A1C their "Commander" clone. Guessing the lettering on the dustcover reads 'Exported by Norinco". Never seen one with that S&W stamp , possibly added at a later stage? Finish doesnt look like the Norinco chrome jobs Ive seen either.
Welcome to Africa, bring a hardhat.

It's definitely not a S&W, they use external extractors on their 1911s.

But that wasn't my only clue. ;-)

It looks pretty old. I wonder if it was made in the same time period that a lot of S&W revolvers were being cloned in Latin America? Yes, I know S&W didn't make a 1911 back then.

Could it be one of the Pakistani guns made in the Northern Territories? Can't recall the name of the city, but it's full of Pakis making knock off guns of all kinds.

I've seen better looking hardware come out of Darra.
