    Heart stopping moments

    Bare aluminum:

After dipping into tri-acid (nitric, sulfuric, and hydrochloric acid mix):

After dipping into 50% nitric acid:

After sitting in the low phos TNB bath for 30min

That is the frame for a $6k Burton gun. Always gives me pause to dip someones gun into tri-acid, but a heck of a lot more when it's worth 6k.

Also, it's fun to pick apart a gun as nice as this one. Excellent work, Jason!

That be some scary stuff to go wrong on a 6k gun. I'm glad it's you doing the dunking and not Jimmy Joes dunk shack and pistol repair.

Any chances we will see some close ups of that fine pistol when completed?

Everybody needs a heart stopping moment at least once a week... besides, it was for a worthy cause.

I have long admired Mr Burton's work as well. I will second the request for a photo when the work is complete.
