I have one of these for a G17 ( the JM mentioned above). Works well. RLN also meets your requirements.

I actually like the JM OWB-2 a lot, and it will probably be my next holster I use for carry or training classes. But I do want something with the speed cut in front, while still being IDPA legal.

Had I read the website prior to posting that comment, I would have realized the change is due to the death of the founder of the company and a transfer of ownership.

My sympathy goes out to the family of Rick Palmer. While I have not owned any of his products, I believe COM had a good reputation on the web for quality and customer service.

These are the two that came to my mind as well. I have both and LOVE them both. Not sure if FIN will cut to expose the ejection port like you want and off top of my head can't recall how low mine are cut. Also, not sure if my FINs are IDPA legal. I am sure Mike at Talon would make whatever you want. He is an IDPA guy so he could make sure whatever he makes would conform.

Thanks so much for this list. I checked out most of these and some of them are pretty close to what I'd like.

As it turns out though, I located a used but excellent condition Comp-Tac belt holster that someone is willing to sell me. It's the prior "generation" one before they changed the styling of the outside to include the logo and name of the pistol on the outside, which is what I prefer too.

    I agree.

I'm assuming the new design is easier for Comp-Tac to make, but I also prefer the older look to the new.

By the way, the Comp-Tac belt holster is still available for other guns. I suspect the International is also easier for them to produce and they'd rather make that than the belt holster which is why they dropped the G17 from the belt holster option.

I would say the international is not only easier to make but the belt loop options add a lot more value. A fitment on the belt close to the older style can be had so there's really no disadvantage. The only difference is that the folks who want one piece and no fasteners won't get that type of holster but the new style is stronger anyway.
    Think for yourself. Question authority.
