    My Safariland GLS review

    Here at GunNuts.

Net/net is it's amazing. The most instinctive draw from a level 1 retention holster available today. It's not expensive (around $50) and it's made very well. Perfect holster for LE and anyone who works outside or......(sigh) open carries. Beats the shit out of the SERPA.

Nice write-up! Is it safe to say that you would pick GLS over the ALS? Also, how easy is the retention device to manipulate from the rear...say if someone were to grab it from the rear? Would it release immediately as a master grip is acquired? Or is it like the old Safariland Raptor with a very springy retention piece?

I would pick it over the ALS purely for the instinctive draw. I literally just tested your scenario and coming from the outside angle and behind, it's actually harder than you would think to trip the retention device. I wouldn't say it's a guarantee but it's not that easy, either.

I have the GLS for G17 and agree with this review. Definitely not a concealment holster, but otherwise well designed.

If the draw is good, Might be good entry level 3 gun holster if one is worried about retention on some stages.

Safariland's will fit chart shows one for the 92/96 Vertec/M9A1. Anyone know if it really fits the railed M9A1? Their chart doesn't make sense.

Thanks for the link. I am in the market for a left-handed holster for my M&P9FS+TLR-1. Long shot if Safariland makes a 5377 in that config, but I like the GLS concept.
