After a bunch of repetitions, the pistol/sights get to the right place and there is very little adjustment required.
This is nothing more than the techniques Bill Jordan was teaching cops back in the 50s and 60s. He described what you describe right down to a T in No Second Place Winner. His technique included a smooth continuum from unsighted point shooting to full on aimed fire, ever increasing amount of sight focus as the distance increased.

He even shows a shooting stance that looks remarkably like modern isoceles, with a grip identical to what we use today but very slightly altered to fit a revolver.

The more things change the more they stay the same.

Very few auto's are setup to use a laser well.

Smith with the M&P and the CT laser grip have a good method - but not ideal, as the grip size leaves some out -- lefties are pretty much screwed
Then you see the CT Glock laser and you see why it sucks for that platform.
The CT grips on my 1911 work well - but its a safe queen now anyway.

None of the laser rail mount setups seems have a good method of activation.

I think the Crimson Trace LG-402M for the Beretta 92 is terrific.
Likes pretty much everything in every caliber.

I'm not in the current version, screws with my "Glock knuckle" index. Seriously, screws me up right from the get-go when I draw at speed.

    LOL!

FWIW the DGs bug my grip too, although I'm not sure it's any real detriment to performance, I just don't like the way they feel. The real deal breaker for me is that they're a light ND nightmare unless I'm moving excessively carefully. Much more so than the CTC buttons.

I fall into the "love fibers and run them on all my game guns but haven't yet become comfortable without tritium on a duty pistol" category. I'm another person excited for the Truglo patent to run its course and see if someone can do the concept better.

This would make for its own interesting thread.

Agreed. Although I'd expect lots of intrinsic parallels to the prototypical night sight vs no night sight discussions.

    Dooo it!!
