Thread: Advice before buying a Glock 42

  1. #61
Quick update: another 250 rounds with no issues. Wife loves the gun and it continues to surprise me with its accuracy and shootability. I have discovered that due to it's size its easier for me to shoot one handed but hitting USPSA A/B head zone is easy out to 15 -20 yards.

Still need to replace the sights. I was surprised to find spare mags locally. Would love to find a +1 or +2 mag extension.

I did read the related thread on these changes, but it wasn't clear from the photos: Are the "1" markings -- particularly on the frame -- easily visible when inspecting a gun at the counter? Or is a field or detail strip necessary?
    Thanks,

I detail strip to look, or just look for a June and up made model from the bullet casing.

    Did you mean field strip?

I have a specimen from the latest generation and the only "issue" has been a couple of failures to lock back on last round with cheap ammo. Otherwise runs great with great accuracy.

My G42 is over 500 rounds now without a stoppage, and is shockingly accurate for a pocket gun. Routinely holds 3 1/2" at the 25 even with crappy ball ammo like Wolf.

Yeah, it's a .380, but as Claude says "Nobody wants to be that guy".

We are still happy with ours. Low recoil, very accurate, and just easy to shoot.

Kinda wish someone would make a +1 or +2 baseplate for the mags though.
